For over 15 years, the slopes at this facility had been regraded and recompacted yearly after seasonal rains would cause severe Rill Erosion. This section of slopes was treated with an application of
Soil-Sement after yearly maintenance was completed.
Eighteen (18) months later, after two monsoon seasons and record breaking "El Nino" rains, this section of slopes remains intact without any maintenance required. Maintenance crews have now treated additional sections of slopes with Soil-Sement, eliminating the yearly grading and compacting operation.

North Starr Rentention Basin and Slopes Erosion and Migration of Sediment at Retention / Detention Basins are a constant problem in our Arid Climate. Rill Erosion transferring Sediment into basin floors restricts collected water from returning into the water table. Hydroseeding is expensive for these applications and without irrigation, results are usually marginal in our Arid Desert Climate. Soil-Sement applications have proven to be exceptionally effective for eliminating Erosion, and Sediment Migration at these Basins, keeping them intact and functional
